West Elm

I started working at West Elm about 5 months ago. It was supposed to be a temporary situation, just until I started working at my new job after Labor Day. But they were looking for Sales Associates for the weekend and I stayed on. At first, I thought it was a bad decision because I wasn't very effective on the sales floor and then all of a sudden in November, I started getting really good. So, now I'm grappling between quitting and staying on. I've told TF several times I would quit and even promised myself on several occassions that today would be the day I finally put in my resignation. However, there was always something that got in the way, whether it be a particularly good sales day, a really fun day at work, or need of cash flow. So, yes, I'm still working there.

And it hasn't been all that bad. I'm still pretty effective on the sales floor. And it's a fun place to work. Some of the managers are pretty cool and the other associates can be a lot of fun. It's definitely a good change of pace from WFD. I think that's particularly why I've stayed on at West Elm - it's not WFD. And thank goodness for that because I need a change of pace after a week's worth of work.

However, HOWEVER, I've got to say, is it a weird coincidence that in the last two days, two of the associates have made it a point to mention their SOs. Or maybe I'm over thinking it (which I am very prone to do). It's just strange that this past weekend, all of a sudden both Doug and David are quick to mention their girlfriends. Or maybe they weren't that quick. They just mentioned them in passing. But after working months with them, it's the first time I hear of them. Why is that? I am definietly over thinking this.

Moving on!......

While I may not be able to stand a couple of my fellow WEers, it's been a pretty good ride so far. We'll see how long it lasts...
